The Permits You Need to Film in Abu Dhabi

Script/Treatment clearance requirements:
All scripts, treatments, storyboards, and series synopsis need to be approved by the National Media Council in advance of any production.
Fee: AED 500 (twofour54 tawasol government processing charge)
Duration: depends on the size of the treatment – average of 2 to 3 weeks.

Public and Private Ground permits requirements:
Complete ground filming permit application and submit to Abu Dhabi Film Commission.To film in private locations such as residential properties, you will need to apply directly to the property owner to obtain written permission.
Fee: AED 500 application fee and AED 100 per month (twofour54 tawasol government processing charge)
Duration: average of 15 to 20 working days

Aerial permit requirements:
Complete aerial filming permit application and submit to Abu Dhabi Film Commission
Fee: AED 1000 per event
Duration: average of 25 to 30 working days

Customs:
Non-wireless equipment
Complete Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (TRA) type approval form and Abu Dhabi Film Commission customs clearance form and submit to ADFC.
Fee: AED 200 (TRA customs clearance letter), AED 250 + AED 600 (twofour54 tawasol charge)
Duration: 5 working days

Wireless equipment
Complete TRA type approval form and ADFC customs clearance form and submit to ADFC. Twofour54 will apply for a temporary spectrum authorization.
Fee: AED 500 (twofour54 tawasol charge per application) and TRA charges: depending on the equipment, twofour54 tawasol will provide costs before proceeding with the application.
